Hey yall!!!  For as long as I can remember Texas Pete has been a part of our Sunday supper dinner table.  Any good southern girl knows Texas Pete is the ONLY hot sauce to use.  From the hot sauce on pulled pork to their vinegar peppers for our greens Texas Pete is a staple!  Plus the hot sauce makes the BEST hot wings!

I was soo excited to learn that Texas Pete now has their own sriacha, CHA!

Of course I had to scoop up some that I knew it would be perfect in this shrimp recipe.  Lightly fried shrimp is coated in a creamy spicy sauce and served over rice.  It is an amazing dish and the CHA really gives it a flavorful kick!

I just lightly fry some shrimp, toss it with the sauce and serve it over rice for a spicy dinner the whole family loves, and there are never any leftovers!!!

For the Sauce:

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1 Tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon Texas Pete CHA!

2 teaspoons sugar

Sprinkle of salt

Mix ingredients together and let sit.

For the Shrimp:

Vegetable oil for frying

2 large eggs

1 1/2 cups cornstarch

1 1/4 pounds small shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups cooked white rice

Directions:

Mix sauce and let sit.

Heat oil in heavy pot to 350 degrees

Coat the shrimp in the cornstarch, then in the beaten egg.

Drop shrimp in batches into the oil.

Fry till golden brown and remove to paper towels to drain.

Mix in bowl with the sauce.

Serve over white rice!

  1. OK, I still haven’t tried in Sriracha, but I know I need to. My brother makes this sandwich he calls a Ramen Sandwich (hang in there with me), where he cookes the ramen to keep it’s brick shape, and then puts it on toasted bread with sriracha sauce. It sounds weird, but I watched him cook it once, and it actually looked kind of good.

  2. I love Texas Pete. I can’t find it in the stores here in Hawaii, I haven’t seen it much since I left NC. I don’t think Texas Pete is all that spicy but it sure makes great Carolina BBQ. I also love to dip my hush puppies in it. I had no Idea they are making a chili garlic sauce now.
