Great idea, Parrish. These would be great to prep in advance for a party, wrap in foil, and then throw them in the oven at the right time. Easy!

Do you cook the sandwiches in the foil?

Yes I do! I just pop them right in the oven in the foil. It keeps everything melty and keeps the croissant soft. Thanks for stopping by!

Have you ever tried assembling these and freezing? I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, but curious if you’ve tried it. Thinking these would be the perfect quick meal/snack for the early days with a new baby, when I’m nursing a baby all the time and HUNGRY all the time. :)

I think these are perfect for the freezer. I just had a baby and wish I would have frozen some! Congrats on your new little one!

I’m a grammy, live alone always looking for that smaller food item to enjoy. Made these using the mini croissants, perfect for an afternoon lunch or for my friends with a glass of wine. Loved them!!! Will add turkey next time, but endless possibilities. Just the right amount of sweet and savory. Thank you for something new and yummy!!!!

These are wonderful because of the sauce you made! I’m going out for more ingredients and I will be making them up to take to an Oscar Night party. I think I may try a sample wrapped in parchment and heat in the microwave. The Oscar Night host has THREE microwaves in her kitchen and if they work for microwave, I would not have to crowd her oven. THANKS for sharing this wonderful sandwich!

This is perfect! I made this the other day on a busy weeknight and we loved it– thank you so much for the recipe. I’m going to make these often and stick them in the fridge, like you suggest, so I can enjoy one whenever I want :)

Has anyone tried frying these instead of baking? I am going camping and only have a griddle.

You should be able to wrap them in foil and throw them right on the coals. We do that with potatoes all the time. Just keep an eye on them so they don’t cook too long.

Could you make a dozen of these and instead put them on a cookie sheet and put aluminum foil over the cookie sheet instead of individually?

I’m going to a pot luck wedding. I’m going to make these with small croissants wrap them up and put them in a roaster oven, and turn it to 300° and go enjoy the wedding. Wish me luck.
