Snow Day with Honey Maid Go Bites!

Sharing is caring!

Hey mamas!  Wow the weather has been rough lately!  So much snow and blustery days all over the country!

I know this resulted in lots of days out of school, which resulted in every kid’s favorite SNOW DAY!!!!!

When I was younger I would get so excited for a snow day, living here in Virginia those are few and far between so they were always very special days.

This year we have gotten just a little snow but that little girl in me still gets excited and I stay up way too late with my forehead pressed against the chilly window hoping to glimpse a snowflake or two before climbing under the quilts dreaming of waking up to a winter wonderland.

Since we get such little snow here when it snows we take advantage!  We bundle up and head outside and build snowmen out of what little snow we can roll into a ball.

By the time we have used up all the snow on the ground it is time to go inside and peel off all those wet, thick layers of clothes, and heavy winter boots.

Before our cheeks even have time to thaw we realize we are starving!  There is just something about that brisk, cold, fresh air, all the excitement of the snow, the heavy winter clothes and all those snowball fights that makes everyone just ravenous!

I like to make a light and tasty snack that is a little more special than our normal because it is a snow day, so everything has to be a little more special.

Honey Maid Go Bites

I have discovered these Honey Maid Go Bites and we are in love!!!  It is so hard to find a nutritious snack for the kids that still feels like a treat and these Honey Maid Go Bites are just that!

Little graham pockets are filled with chocolate are vanilla and have that classic Honey Maid taste we all love.  These Go Bites are just delicious and the perfect size for snacking, the pop right in your mouth.

Honey Maid Go Bites, yum!

My kids love them because they are yummy and chocolatey and vanilla-y and are the perfect little sweet treat.

I love them because they provide about 15% of both the recommended daily value of whole grains and protein.  Let’s face it with picky eaters it can be hard to get any whole grains in them and the Honey Maid Go Bites pack a whopping 7g of whole grains and 5g of protein per serving.  I really like that they contain no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors or colors which is so important here with Dean’s dye allergy.  You can pick up both the chocolate and vanilla varieties at your store, so keep an eye out!

When we come in from a hard day of playing in the snow I whip up a quick tray of sliced fruit with a little hot fudge for dipping and lots of Honey Maid Go Bites and everyone loves it!

It doesn’t have to be a snow day for us to enjoy these sweet bites, they make the  perfect snack any day and a great snack you can feel good about giving your kids.

In fact about less than 1% of children get the recommended amount of whole grains in their diets so Honey Maid Go Bites are a delicious way to get those whole grains into your little ones!
